Brackish Water RO Membranes for Industrial Water Treatment Systems
Brackish water ro membranes are aromatic polyamide composite membrane elements designed for brackish water desalination. As industrial brackish water reverse osmosis membranes, they feature low operating pressure, high water output, and high salt rejection rates. With excellent removal efficiency for dissolved salts, TOC, SiO₂, and other substances, they are particularly suitable for high-purity water production in the electronics and power generation industries. They are reverse osmosis membrane elements designed to remove dissolved salts, minerals, organic contaminants, and other impurities from low- to medium-salinity water. Compared with seawater RO membranes, they operate at lower pressure while maintaining high desalination performance, helping reduce energy consumption and operating costs.

Why Choose Our Brackish Water RO Membranes?
Anti-Fouling & Easy-Clean – Less Maintenance, Lower Cost
Featuring a 34mil wide-feed spacer design combined with anti-fouling membrane materials, this element effectively minimizes foulant accumulation and delivers exceptional anti-fouling performance. The low differential pressure operation ensures higher energy efficiency, while the wide pH cleaning range allows for easier chemical cleaning with excellent recovery rates. This significantly reduces downtime, maintenance frequency, and labor costs, extends membrane service life, and adapts reliably to various challenging water qualities.
Broad Adaptability – Stable Performance Across Complex Water Sources
Specifically engineered for brackish water and industrial wastewater with salinity levels up to 10,000 ppm, the BW series flexibly adapts to varying hardness and contamination levels without requiring equipment modifications. It delivers stable, consistent operation with far greater adaptability than conventional RO membranes.
Stable Desalination – Consistent Compliance, No Rework
With precisely controlled membrane pore size, the BW series ensures reliable and stable salt rejection rates. It efficiently removes dissolved salts and heavy metals, producing effluent that meets diverse quality requirements for industrial use, drinking water, and agricultural irrigation – effectively eliminating the risk of non-compliant water quality and costly rework.

Brackish Water RO Membranes VS Seawater RO Membrane
Feed Water Adaptability:
Brackish water reverse osmosis membranes are specifically designed for feed water with relatively low TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) concentrations, such as certain groundwater or surface water sources, with salinity levels typically below 10,000 ppm. In contrast, seawater RO membranes are engineered for high-salinity seawater (>10,000 ppm), capable of withstanding significantly higher salt concentrations and more complex ionic compositions.
Desalination Performance & Pressure Requirements:
Seawater RO membranes deliver higher salt rejection rates and superior salt tolerance, operating stably under high-pressure conditions – for instance, they can withstand pressures exceeding 80 bar to ensure efficient removal of nearly all mineral salts from seawater. Brackish water RO membranes, on the other hand, perform effectively at considerably lower operating pressures while still maintaining excellent desalination results, making them more energy-efficient for low-to-moderate salinity applications.
Materials & Process Optimization:
Seawater RO membranes utilize more specialized membrane materials with enhanced pressure resistance, anti-fouling properties, and chemical stability, effectively coping with corrosive elements and biologically active substances commonly found in seawater. Brackish water RO membranes also offer good anti-fouling performance, but their design philosophy places greater emphasis on long-term, stable operation in low-to-moderate salinity environments rather than extreme high-salinity conditions.
Application Scenarios:
Brackish water RO membranes are widely applied in industrial wastewater treatment, municipal water supply, and drinking water production in specific regions. Seawater RO membranes are predominantly used in large-scale seawater desalination plants, freshwater supply for coastal cities, offshore platform domestic water systems, and high-purity water production in certain industrial sectors such as power generation and electronics manufacturing.
